Overall still fresh. </p><p>The dark windows look cool from the outside, but from the inside you miss natural light.</p>
Brian Hartgen<p>Probably my final post on the Evo audio player.<br>I had time to get it onto our wireless network yesterday morning. While you can insert the password manually, it has another cool feature where you can copy it to a text file and put it on the player. This is useful if the password is complex or it is difficult for you to type it in.<br>The player then uses that to log in essentially, whereupon it saves the connection as an access point.</p><p>Once done, I updated the firmware. The firmware on the player was from June 2022 and the update is from November 2022. This has resolved the problems I had with closing down the player as it now seems to work every time I press and hold the power button for a few seconds.</p><p>With that out of the way, this is in my view a truly excellent specialist player and definitely worth considering if you are in the market for such a device. </p><p>Since I've had the player, I've been listening to TV shows as I am working my way through a long series at present. The audio reproduction is fantastic.<br>I could listen to a book on this device at a faster speed, which I always do. There are some small audio blemishes if you do this whereas the VR Stream is smoother in its delivery, but the E12 has many positives which outweigh this, especially its ability to sort books into an order anyone can understand. </p><p>I haven't done a great deal with recording because I don't use such a device for that, but certainly it is no worse than some of the other similar players and in most cases much better especially for taking notes.</p><p>It is hard to determine the battery life at this point but I would guess about 15 hours. But it is a guess.</p><p>I do wonder how often the firmware will be updated given what I have written above. But all in all, a very positive experience using this player. There are many things I like about it. Should there come a point where my wife's VR Stream 2 stops working, at this point in time I would purchase another one of these devices as a preference particularly because of the audio reproduction through the speaker. </p><p>In the UK, you can purchase this player through Computer Room Services who delivered it promptly by DPD courier. I knew exactly what time it was going to be delivered and progress of my order was given periodically throughout.
