Not too bad for my entry in #Alakajam 21.
7th overall, 2nd in originality.
Made compromises in graphics and audio to focus on design so those lower rankings also as expected.
Amazing experience in general.

An experiment with a new (to me) pixel-art/3D workflow. Made for Alakajam! 21 in 48 hours.
The #macroquad library really keeps #rust dependencies in check.
Full Wasm builds < 3s. Incremental ones < 0.7s.
Then I have a live server that detects the new build and just reloads the browser page with the game.
Really nice iteration times with this setup. And I'm running a very old Ryzen 5 2600.
#Alakajam 21 update:
I'm working on a puzzle game where you have to stabilize a system of planets, considering how the gravity of each affects the others.
- Done with most programming. Fixing a bug with the collision detection in the simulation now.
- I have a little music track for level interludes.
- Need to make fun levels.
- Maybe make nicer graphics but this is not a priority.
Having a great time so far.

This weekend is the #alakajam gamejam, I've (unwisely?) chosen to do #nesdev for it. Normally I limit myself to the most basic NES cart configuration but for this jam I'm giving myself access to the powerful nintendo MMC5 and as much romsize as I like to try and make a vertical scroller with parallax. Happy enough with the vertical component but the horizontal element is kind of jumpy for not much benefit. Still, it's a gamejam and experimentation is OK right?
It is I, the Jamician of Alakajam!
I represent alakajam.com, a friendly magical game jamming and gamedev community. All beings are welcome.
How does a game jam work? Well, often we submit themes - like "labyrinth" or "GIANT ROBOTS" - and choose the best in a vote.
Then when the theme is announced, we all scramble to make a game using the theme.
Finally, we play the games! Sometimes we even choose a winner.
Let's jam!
