Low-bitrate drums (frequently a giveaway), entirely AI imagery, no hint as to who made it or how it was made. A ridiculous amount of music released in a short span. I suspect even some artificial followers.</p><p>What's especially interesting is I don't know many bands that mix surf and dub. It kills me to say it, but AI is kind of doing something original here. I saw them in 2022, sounded great, with some real thundering bass, but the show was stolen by the additional entertainment they brought.</p><p>Make sure to check out Ran's other bands, The Sand Devils and The Astroglides. Middle Eastern influence isn't as heavy, but it comes in and both are great.</p>
Defiance!<p>The Scimitars - “Bari Simone” (2023)</p><p>Vibrant and mesmerizing Middle Eastern influenced surf music from a talented combo out of SoCal. </p><p>Super producer Jack Endino did the mastering.
