A TRO (temporary restraining order) is normally not appealable. Result: Today, a 2-1 ruling by a panel of the US <a href="https://babka.social/tags/Court" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Court</a> of <a href="https://babka.social/tags/Appeals" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Appeals</a> for the District of Columbia slammed the government's case, finding it "unlikely" that the government would prevail in a full hearing on the merits. Perhaps more so: my wife works with refugees; every day her clients are being screwed and her colleagues fired.I'm not sure that Schumer is wrong, though, to decide this isn't the hill we die on. Maybe and maybe not, but it's a little funny to say he "folded" or call him a "coward" when he had to know how unpopular his move would be with his own constituents.Maybe Schumer was right, maybe wrong. But I think we have to look at the <a href="https://babka.social/tags/consequences" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#consequences</a> of a government <a href="https://babka.social/tags/shutdown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#shutdown</a> and decide if they would promote or damage our goals.
