EpiscoGrrl<p>Just (re)watched The <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PhiladelphiaEleven" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PhiladelphiaEleven</span></a> Although I lived through this part of church <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/history" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>history</span></a> every time I see or read or hear about it I discover something new &amp; profound. The older I get, the more I am struck by &amp; admire the courage of those involved. Today I find myself wondering what might have happened if Pauli Murray had counseled them differently or joined their action or just lived long enough to see Barbara Harris nominated as a bishop. Despite my playing “what if” I have rarely been so proud to be part of the <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Episcopal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Episcopal</span></a> Church. We owe these women (and a few men) a great deal, especially prayers that the doors they opened with such radical love will never close. <a href="https://pbs.org/video/the-philadelphia-eleven-cOIThl?source=social" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">pbs.org/video/the-philadelphia</span><span class="invisible">-eleven-cOIThl?source=social</span></a></p>
