Arend (they) 🏳️‍⚧️😷🎙️🍉🏴🕊<p>I'm trying to figure out the simplest way to record <a href="https://musicians.today/tags/Reaper" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Reaper</span></a> sessions and voice over with <a href="https://musicians.today/tags/OBS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OBS</span></a>. I had a workflow on macOS, but I need a different solution for <a href="https://musicians.today/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a>.</p><p>You'd think it'd be easier with JACK and whatnot, but I was pulling my hair out last night.</p><p>If you've got any tips, I'd love to hear 'em!</p><p><a href="https://musicians.today/tags/LinuxAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxAudio</span></a></p>
Alison Wilder<p>Finally took the time to set up some trusty Windows audio plugins in Linux today, courtesy wine + yabridge. Now I've got Sonible, Arturia, and FabFilter plugins in my Debian 12 system! What more could you ask for, seriously?</p><p>MMEA y'all (make mixing easy again)</p><p>(Okay, you could ask for UAD and Soundtoys, but then you'd just be greedy.)</p><p><a href="https://io.waxandleather.com/tags/linuxAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linuxAudio</span></a> <a href="https://io.waxandleather.com/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://io.waxandleather.com/tags/musicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>musicProduction</span></a> <a href="https://io.waxandleather.com/tags/reaper" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>reaper</span></a></p>

Arend (they) 🏳️‍⚧️😷🎙️🍉🏴🕊<p>This plugin is flippin' brilliant. It does that modal resonator/synthesis thing that Ableton producers are hot for these days. Ercanbrack<p>I happened upon an article about the degradation of electronics. It seems, based upon what I read, that electronics — especially those electronics with electrolytic capacitors on the board, have a finite shelf life, whether you use the device or not.</p><p>This news is quite sobering, considering the amount of equipment I’ve had in storage for the last 20 years.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/LinuxAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/MusicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicProduction</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Music</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Audio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Audio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Synthesizer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Synthesizer</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Studio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Studio</span></a></p>
Ercanbrack<p>But, what if someone created a template that everyone could use? What if all a SFZ creator had to do was append this template to the top of the SFZ text file that the instrument creator defined? What if this template not only made the SFZ instrument MIDI CC capabile, but also provided GUI controls to the Sforzando or Sfizz plugin? Wouldn't this make SFZ more expressive?</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/MusicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicProduction</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/LinuxAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/WindowsAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WindowsAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/MacAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MacAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Music</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Samplers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Samplers</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Audio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Audio</span></a> </p><p>This thread continues... Ercanbrack<p>If when creating new instruments in SFZ format, the creator of the instrument doesn't know how to add the needed information to make the SFZ file capable of expression, then the instrument remains unexpressive...lifeless. This is not the fault of the SFZ, but because the creator doesn't have the programming skills.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/MusicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicProduction</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/LinuxAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/WindowsAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WindowsAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/MacAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MacAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Music</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Samplers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Samplers</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Audio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Audio</span></a> </p><p>This thread continues... Ercanbrack<p>There is one drawback that people complain about with SFZ, and today I want to share a discovery I have made that resolves this one problem. Most SFZ instruments are unexpressive. This is not because of the format itself, but rather it is because of the difficulty of adding MIDI CC information into the SFZ instrument file.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/MusicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicProduction</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/LinuxAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/WindowsAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WindowsAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/MacAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MacAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Music</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Samplers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Samplers</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Audio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Audio</span></a> </p><p>This thread continues...
