Peter Schweighofer<p>Second snow day this week (8-10 inches). Played three games of The Hunt. I won running British, then Germans, but my son, frustrated while learning the rules and strategies, crushed me in the third game, sinking the Graf Spee just off the West African coast.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Wargames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wargames</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/HistoricalGames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HistoricalGames</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/GamingThePast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GamingThePast</span></a></p>
Peter Schweighofer<p>My son wanted to play Prof. Philip Sabin’s Schieffen for game night. First game (pictured) the French took a beating first turn and Germans (my son) scored the historical victory. Second game French withdrew, then counterattacked on later turns...not so much of a German victory that time.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/wargames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wargames</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/gamingthepast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gamingthepast</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/gamesforlearning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gamesforlearning</span></a></p>

A wonderfully concise game, relatively easy rules to learn with a short play time yet a satisfying number of choices every turn.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/wargames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wargames</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/boardgames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>boardgames</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/historygames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>historygames</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/gamingthepast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gamingthepast</span></a></p><p>Demonstrates the difficulties of extending an invader’s supply line and the advantages a dedicated defender can exploit.
