David P
@BrodieOnLinux Well hearing the developers comment on it that if you thing X11 security is bad, it's much worse than you think... and I like moving towards the future of where things will go. So (I commented on it when you asked about what kept people on X11) but I jumped to the Wayland session 2 realeases before Fedora defaulted to it (there were rough edges, but nothing like when I started using Linux, didn't have to configure wayland by hand like X in the day, or bounce between the dual boot of 95 and Linux to figure out how to configure a chat script to get on dial up internet, all while learning vi).
I know (in addition to being a Wayland shill 😉) you also shill for Arch, but IMHO it breaks itself too often... #fedora gets me new stuff faster, and doesn't break itself. When you do your main system upgrade and make a new system with the spare parts, you should really check out the #ublue image based / atomic systems. I run a custom build myself to have it just the way *I* want (pull bits from #bluefin / #bazzite / secureblue). Plus if you really want something from AUR you can always use distrobox to run the userspace of *ANY* OS on the rock solid base system. Daniël Franke :panheart:
This weekend, I installed bazzite on the old gaming rig that has been gathering dust for a while as I've not had the spoons to put effort into getting into useful state again. And I must say, that despite there being an nvidia bug that makes it that the resolution can't be higher than 1440p, it is an amazing gaming OS.

It instantly becomes a great console to put next to your TV, and if you want to go further, in desktop mode, there's commands that instantly set up things like emudeck, sunshine, and much much more gaming related things.

Just how smooth and low maintenance is very impressive, it's so much better than when I had Windows on that same machine, and I had to do so many ugly hacks just to make it work kinda acceptable as a console, and makes me hope that nvidia's linux driver improves a bit more so that I don't have to remind myself to not go above 1440p.

#bazzite #gaming #linux

Giving up on #kdeneon and trying for #bazzite now.
