We seem to be acquiring a reputation as a rest home for wood pigeons. Last year, we nursed one elderly bird for most of the summer. Now another one has turned up who seems a bit wobbly on its feet and finds flying a bit of a chore. Nothing wrong with its appetite though, eating large amounts of buggy bites. #Birds #Aves #WoodPigeon

It's not just us humans that struggling with all the recent rain. I came across this rather bedraggled young wood pigeon this morning sheltering from a shower in the undergowth alongside the River Kelvin.
A very endearing baby #WoodPigeon has found himself a lovely spot in the greengage tree. He was born in our #garden and is too young still to be shy. Later in the day I realised that there are two.
I know some people don’t like them - I love them.
