This account has been setup to allow us to better identify #verified accounts here on #Universeodon where for one reason or another the standard Mastodon verification process through a website is not sufficient.

Accounts here are verified by @wild1145 manually. There is no "Benefit" to being followed by this account (You don't get a blue tick) but this may prove to be a useful resource for folks looking for accounts to follow or to confirm an account we host is legitimate.

It is also important to note we can only review accounts on #Universeodon rather than the wider federated network.

Please also note that just because this account does not follow an account does not make the account any less trustworthy, it may simply be that we hadn't seen the account or felt it note worthy enough to confirm validate beyond the URL verification built in to Mastodon

If you think this account should follow you please contact support@mastodonapp.uk

Set up #BIMI

You can use the #BrandIndicatorsForMessageIdentification (BIMI) #standard to add your #organization’s logo to #outgoing email messages sent from your organization. Email clients that support BIMI display the #logo along with your organization’s #messages in the recipient's #mailbox. #Logos used with BIMI are #verified by a #thirdparty so #recipients can be sure logos in their inbox are #legitimate.
BIMI requires third-party certification for your domain and logo. The third-party #certification must be a #VerifiedMarkCertificate (#VMC) or a #CommonMarkCertificate (#CMC)."

#Google is testing #verified checkmarks in search

Ah yes, instead of directly addressing that ads appear above search results, look almost exactly like actual search results, and their verification process for advertisers is regularly abused itself (plus “verified advertisers” appear to be breached regularly), lets give out checkmarks to domains.

Cue services offering “Google #domain name verification” to bypass this if it rolls out broadly in 3, 2, 1…

Some recent articles I wrote about the #fediverse:

"A lot of people think that the pentacle was chosen because of its occult or satanic connotations."

Thorough investigations of war crimes take a while when western journalists aren't allowed into the region and other journos are constantly targeted.

Kudos to WaPo for doing due diligence on Israel's attack back in January that killed a 6 year old girl and the medics who had coordinated Israeli approval to rescue her. washingtonpost.com/world/inter

In mid-March, Elad Goren, head of Coordination and Liaison Administration at COGAT, told The Post that the agency “coordinated everything … including the ambulance that wanted to go and find Hind.”

The IDF denied that any coordination had taken place, repeating its assertion that its forces were not in the area.
