🚨 ICE IS DEPORTING VIRGINIA’S STUDENTS AND THEIR UNIVERSITIES ARE COMPLICIT

Students from several Virginia universities—VT, VCU, GMU, UVA—all had their visas suddenly revoked recently.

These schools love taking international tuition money—millions every year—but when ICE comes knocking? Suddenly they’re powerless. VT hosts webinars instead of lawyers. VCU cites “privacy concerns” while students disappear. UVA quietly confirms one case and ducks responsibility.

This is systemic. ICE is escalating attacks nationwide. Universities could fight back—sanctuary policies, legal defense funds, outright refusal to cooperate—but instead they wring their hands and watch. We must do what the universities are failing to do and protect each other.

If you see ICE:
Do not open your door. Do not speak. Do not sign anything. Call the Immigration Rapid Response Hotline Virginia Network immediately at 855-298-3271 (AYU-DAR1). This hotline provides emergency legal support and tracks ICE movements.

Spread this number everywhere. Attend protests. Demand your school take a stand. Together, we have the power to stop this—and the time is now.

We stand with trans youth! VCU & UVA must keep providing gender-affirming care. AG Miyares & Trump’s attacks are pure bigotry—meant to divide us. Trans rights are human rights!

We will defend trans youth!

Demonstrations have been taking place across the state demanding that the VCU & UVA continue providing gender affirming healthcare for trans youth. This care is vital to the health and well-being of LGBTQ and intersex youth. Miyares & Trump’s orders are blatant bigotry, with no connection to science, standards of medical care, or worry for the well-being of children.

Transphobia is one of many ruling class techniques to turn working class people against each other. Blaming societal problems on trans people is a tool used by the ruling class to create division and distract from the real enemy - the rich.

Trans people’s needs are those of the entire working class - guaranteed access to healthcare, education, housing, and jobs. Trans rights are human rights!

🚨WEEK OF RAGE🚨 STATEMENT REGARDING 10/07/24 MARCH TO VIAB🔥
A year of gen0c!de has taught us that our movement will not be silenced by any state entity. As we resist repression, we look to the people of Gaza as the cradle of our struggle— a people that refuse capitulation, and in that spirit, we remain steadfast.

The people, united, will never be defeated✊

walkout for
Wednesday, 9/4 @12pm

Students for Justice in Palestine at VCU:

"We are so back.

Welcome to Fall ‘24, Rams. Are you sick of VCU ’s complicity in the ongoing genocide? Do you remember the brutality of April 29th, the peaceful liberated zone, raided and crushed by police brutality? Do you stand on the right side of history?

This Wednesday, we walkout at noon in unwavering solidarity with the martyrs of Palestine

Location coming soon. Join us in dissent.

Bring a friend. Bring ten. By simply showing up, you show your humanity. "

Graduating students at VCU were seen walking out during Virginia governor Glenn Youngkinn's address to the class.

The protesting students made comments to the press indicating their strong disagreement with Glenn Youngkinn's goals to limit Black History curriciulium and general anti-Black and anti-Trans policy goals.

One last #vcu #studentprotests toot and then I’ll go back to pictures of flowers.

#virginia Lieutenant Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears tweeted last night: “I am told that these protesters seem to be well-funded and well-supplied with food, tarps, tents, and pallets.”

That’s called being supported by the community.

Generally, nobody cares what she thinks, but since she seems to be running for governor next year, let’s get it on the record. And, by the way… 1/2

Very proud of my niece, Mason Whitmore, and the #VCU Women’s #Lacrosse team for their victory against #NCAA Division I adversary #Richmond. It was the #VCURams’ first victory against their crosstown rivals in the nine-year history of the program. vcuathletics.com/news/2024/4/2

Mason notched the tying goal in the third quarter, and the team’s official Instagram play-by-play story featured her when they posted the final score.

I had a position that I fought for very hard here in the US at #vcu #vipbg in behavioral genetics, though Covid came into our lives, making moving into the US impossible.

I waited until after covid slowed down the position was still available, so I finally moved. It's three years in and my career really grew, now I teach and I became junior faculty in the most respected workshop in my field.
