After a 19-month interruption due to a landslide in the Maurienne Valley in the French Alps, the rail link between Paris and Milan resumed Monday morning, with almost full trains departing from the French capital. The first two TGV trains left the Gare de Lyon in Paris for Milan at 6:46 a.m. and then at 9:46 a.m., taking just over seven hours to reach the Lombard capital, passing through Macon, Chambéry, Modane, Oulx and Turin.

La 15007 de la SNCF qui a amené un train venant de Bâle devant la 3011 des CFL avec une rame de voitures SNCB arrivée de Liège et sur la voie 4, la locomotive SNCB 2012 qui va reprendre le train arrivé sur la voie d'à côté pour l'amener en Belgique. A Luxembourg, il n'était pas rare en 2005 que deux trains soient reçus sur la même voie.
Three locomotives, three networks! SNCF class 15007 arrived from Basel with an train and behind CFL Class 3011 with a rake of Belgian carriages arrived from Liège and on track 4, SNCB/NMBS Class 2012 which will take over the train arrived on the next track. In 2005, it was no exception when two trains were received on a same track in Luxembourg.

Keir Starmer has committed £415m of 'new money' to the ongoing electricfcation & improvement of inter-city rail services around the North...
But, as if he admits, this is a £10bn project & so today's announcement is more of a small continuity payment than a massive shift in speed of completion of a project already running a decade late... but at least Rachel Reeves has not actually cut it back (yet).
