Carole Pateman's main argument in her #book #Participation & Democratic Theory is that in order for people to become good at democratic participation, they need to be socialized to do it and have the opportunity to practice it. Thus, every domain of of our lives should be more participatory and democratic.

And, she suggests, we spend much of our lives in workplaces that are more akin to dictatorships than democracies. Thus, we need to fight for #workplace and #economic #democracy.
