The #opera was great. It was Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi”, a one-act comedy in which a family schemes to change the will of the just deceased, diverting the wealth and properties to themselves in lieu of the originally intended monastery. Gianni Schicchi is the right kind of scoundrel, aiding & abetting for love & profit.

Even if you don’t know opera, you definitely have heard, "O mio babbino caro", the turning point in Gianni’s motivations and one of the most famous arias in all opera.

I was listening to the Met Opera's broadcast of Fidelio Saturday when out of the blue came that short musical phrase that Radio Deutsche Welle used to plink out on the celesta.

The familiar tune was used as its interval signal on shortwave to assist listeners tuning in.

I never knew where that little tune came from! Why, it's Beethoven, of course.

And now it's been stuck in my head all weekend.

Why doesn't #Opera follow my desktop environment's window paradigm on #LinuxMint + #Cinnamon? I have the buttons layout (Close, Maximize, Minimize, etc.) justified left (sort of the way MacOS does it) and here's Opera doing it's own thing just completely ignoring the way I've got things set up in Linux.

Here's an idea for the Opera devs... don't assume you know what the user wants or will do with your product.
