I love language learning. I studied #German and #Spanish as a kid, took #Japanese in uni, and I'm currently studying #ASL #Cree #Toki Pona #Spanish and #Chinese. I also dabble in #French and #Latin sometimes and I'm learning #Greggshorthand to write faster. Cree is my favourite language and Spanish is my second.

I've been cursed since childhood with that lovely trifecta of #heds #pots and #mcas. Healing slowly but surely.

#throwbackthursday Around 10 years ago, I was off to my first year of the master spinner's program at Old's college. But before I left, I somehow left my purse with all my electronics and spindles on the ground and then ran over it while backing out. Half my electronics and all my spindles were trashed. Some people who I told at school told me to bring my broken spindles to Jan at Danware. So I did, and he got them fixed up for me really quick. They spin even better now. This is what I made to thank him. Asked him what his favourite colors and animal was. They brought it to all their markets, whenever I'd see the Danware booth I'd always look for that little speck of pink too. After I gave him that he also snuck up behind me and put a wooden felting needle holder in my purse. Such a sweet guy. I think this may be my last year to buy from them as their online shop is closed and they're selling off stock at markets this year. I'll have to get as many spindles as I can.

First time felting on a flat surface. Can check that box too.

Cute, but it is missing something. Maybe more details, or gradients in the white, or more grassy grass….I don’t know.

Felted Fox…this piece started as a triangle-ish shaped wet felted vessel made on a flat resist. Once dry, I stuffed it and stitched part of the opening closed to create the ears. From there, the fox came to life through needlefelting. Hello!

Last night my local makerspace hosted a needle felting class. Was a lot of fun. The little black “cat” was my attempt.
