Dandy article for anybody with a general interest in modern #MaritimeNavigation. The backgrounding sections are a true treat.

For a #SalishSea fleet I work with we've inserted geofencing to avoid interfering with #orca pods. #GPS data collected from #NMEA bus fed into a flea-sized #MCU running with a small database and a simple alorithm driving audio/visual alert suffices for vessels without native #MFD capacity for this. Crude but effective. :-)

NatureTheoretical research and system design of ship navigation guidance for local temporary prohibited navigation area - Scientific ReportsWith the continuous advancement of intelligent technology, intelligent transportation has become a prominent area of research within the transportation sector. In contrast to road-based intelligent transportation systems, the development of intelligent maritime transportation remains in its early stages. This paper proposes a foundational theory and related concepts for ship navigation guidance to address the gap in theoretical support for intelligent maritime transportation. By examining both individual and system-level attributes, the similarities and differences between vehicles and ships are analyzed. Drawing on the theoretical framework of road-based intelligent transportation and the unique characteristics of maritime transportation, the paper introduces the core theory of intelligent maritime transportation, specifically the theoretical structure of a ship’s intelligent guidance system. Based on this theoretical framework, a prototype of the ship navigation intelligent guidance system was developed and tested. The experimental results demonstrate that the system successfully integrates core technologies, each fulfilling its intended role. The system significantly enhances the safety of ship navigation and fosters the advancement of intelligent maritime transportation. Therefore, the proposed definition of ship navigation guidance and the associated technical framework for the intelligent guidance system not only enrich the theoretical foundations of intelligent maritime transportation but also offer valuable insights for the development of intelligent ships.

Thunderbolts* is the first MCU release in a couple of years that I'm really anticipating I'll enjoy.

Agatha exceeded my expectations and, so far, Daredevil: Born Again is really good, much better than the original since there's much more story and far less pointless and overly long fight sequences (and barely any religiosity), but I didn't expect much from either.

Deadpool and Wolverine started brilliantly, but was mostly just ok, and it didn't matter.

Say what you want about that #MARVEL live stream last week, but it certainly got everyone talking. That was the goal, so I would say mission accomplished. At one point, there were like 270 million people watching, so all the haters who were mad, I don't get you. They could have said nothing (like most studios) until the film was finished. You get a tease and you're all like, 'FUCK!! THIS IS BULLSHIT!!' 😅

The opening scene in Logan*, ending with several hollow-point bullets being pressure ejected from Hugh Jackman's striated musculature into a low-grade motel's dirty porcelain sink, with a single digit body fat level of vascularity reminiscent of a hard DNP cut, is quite possibly the most enjoyably vicious and raw intro sequence to any Wolverine or X-MEN movie.

Further so, the same opinion applies to Logan's superiority (of opening scenes) over any of the MCU movies.

The tenor of the movie increases, finds additional plot lines, but that intro sure is a feel good thrasher.. and then we see just how sadly downtrodden Logan and Charles have fallen, psychologically and physically, and because of what? All because Charles refused to do what needed to be done on that beach back in the 1960s, out of a misplaced sense of flawed ethics? Or because so many years ago Erik (ja, Max) was held back from stabilizing the power dynamic between the superiorly evolved and everyone else.. perhaps there is no definitive single answer? hmm.

Very sad. Great movie, never a dull moment. Great into to his daughter too, fantastisch.

I just watched episode 5 of Daredevil: Born Again and I know they're going to find a way to not let it happen, but I'm going to be extremely pissed and disappointed if they don't have Kamala Khan featured like her dad on the show, preferably in episode 6 but definitely by episode 9.

We're fucking tired of nothing tying together anymore after they made such a huge deal of everything supposedly being really connected.

I see some people mad at #MARVEL for this stunt, but for the record.. I LOVED it. 😅

19 MILLION people tuned in to watch these chairs drift slowly into frame, knowing what it meant for the #MCU and the new Avengers films we're getting. Every ten minutes or so, they would give us another morsel to chew on and speculate about. Some BIG surprises (JAMES MARSDEN!!), some shocking reveals (CHANNING TATUM??) and just enough to keep us interested. 👑

'AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY' is officially in production and this cast is STACKED!! 🤩
