The decision further clears the way for #Trump to re-fire probationary employees. Those are typically #FederalWorkers in their 1st or 2nd year on the job, or who have been recently promoted.

In a 2-to-1 decision, the appeals court said the Trump admin was likely to succeed in showing that the lower court lacked #jurisdiction in the case brought by 19 states & DC. The court did not rule on whether the firings were #lawful.

#Wetsuweten #HereditaryChief will serve a 60-day jail sentence under house arrest for disrupting #pipeline construction through Wet'suwet'en traditional territory in northern #BritishColumbia in October 2021.

#ChiefDtsahyl, also known as Adam Gagnon, was convicted of criminal contempt for publicly and willfully defying a court order to stay away from Coastal GasLink's pipeline construction.

According to the judgment, Chief Dtsa'hyl appeared in social media videos and called the court injunction obtained by #CoastalGasLink "bogus as hell" because the Wet'suwet'en owned and had #jurisdiction over the territory through which the pipeline was being built.

Chief Dtsa'hyl testified that as a leader, he had a duty to protect Wet'suwet'en land, water, burial sites, and historic trails from the degradation of pipeline construction. He said his actions against Coastal GasLink upheld the traditional Wet'suwet'en law of trespass.

The court heard that Chief Dtsa'hyl is 68 years old and has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma.

Character references submitted to the court describe him as a loving, supportive, compassionate and courageous man.

Last yr, the court issued warrants for #Putin & Maria #LvovaBelova, #Russia’s commissioner for children’s rights, for the #WarCrimes of “#unlawful #deportation” & “unlawful transfer” of #children from occupied areas.

The earlier warrants had a mostly symbolic impact. Russia, like the #UnitedStates, does not accept the #ICC’s #jurisdiction, & the court does not try people in absentia. But it has limited Putin’s travel to countries that accept the court’s jurisdiction.

'The Supreme Court Must Be Stopped

The court is fundamentally antidemocratic—and the only way to limit the damage it can do is to reduce its power, budget, and lack of accountability.'
