❛❛ The upcoming #TotalLunarEclipse in March [is] unlike the total #solar eclipse in April 2024 ❜❜

#KronoMoon: the Total Lunar Eclipse is on Friday of next week. It is also the #FullMoon, the #WormMoon, and of course the #KrononautMoon — the night for making contact with #TimeTravelers. More about #eclipses on our website.

Passages: Reflections on 2024
All years are passages between what was and what is yet to come. Usually, the transitions are subtle and incremental, hardly noticeable. But certain events signal a major crossing into something new. 2024 was one of those times, a bridge between distinct phases of my life. This essay reflects on the year with selected photos that I made in 2024 (and one from an earlier year).

..."how do we learn to communicate our authentic self in our relationships? We do that through the Aries North Node, the sign of the search for Identity. Collectively, these past years have been a time to go on a search for our true identity, which holds our purpose. With Chiron in Aries now, we’ve had a chance to heal the wounds to our sense of self and hopefully find the courage to write a new sto"...

“A total solar eclipse captivated North America in April of 2024. Millions of people watched as daylight plunged into darkness. A luminous, almost otherworldly ring replaced the familiar view of the Sun. Totality had arrived. But just how common is such an experience? How frequently do total solar eclipses occur, and are there places on Earth more prone to eclipses than others?...”

TIL from #WaitButWhy "Earthlings are very lucky, eclipse-wise. Most planets don’t have a big enough moon to create a total solar eclipse. Not only is our moon big enough, it’s about exactly the size of the sun in our night sky because, by sheer coincidence, the #sun is about 400 times farther from us than the #moon and also about 400 times bigger than the moon in diameter—making our #eclipses especially breathtaking." waitbutwhy.com/2024/04/eclipse

Wait But Why · Tales From the Eclipse — Wait But WhyIt turns out we live in the Solar System.

Weird #conspiracyTheories, and superstitions around cosmic events like #eclipses are common because people don't understand science and how anything works.

It all feels very similar to the same run of conspiracy theories we had with stuff like the four blood moons, and the September 23 apocalypse, and other #pseudoscience nonsense. Basically, a common event is imbued with cosmic significance, then totally forgotten when nothing happens.
