The Griffith Observatory broadcast team was incredibly lucky to catch the entire lunar eclipse between rainy days! Check out the time lapse of the event on our YouTube channel.
It was very windy and cold on the roof, but we did it! Very proud of our team.😁

✨"Phantom Moon" - I almost missed this eclipse as I couldn't decide where to go so I went back to one of my favorite locations near Big Cypress National Preserve. It's always thrilling looking up at the night sky during these celestial events knowing that I'm looking at the same sight that has sparked fear and wonder in mankind since the dawn of time. 🌑🌒✨🌴

Taking a moment to write fan mail to the author of one of my favorite webcomics, letting him know (with tongue firmly in cheek) that I spotted an error in today's strip;

raspberry hamentashen;

and this picture of an #eclipse of the sun as seen from the moon (what we experienced as a lunar eclipse)

[The comic is xkcd by Randall Munroe, strip #3063, and I think that under his "grounded" definition there are 13 planets. Maybe 12. But certainly more than 10.]
