Do you own a #Toshiba #Libretto #50CT with a password-locked BIOS? The guy who 3D prints replacement cases for vintage laptops took to a 50CT recently, and designed a special circuit board that slots into its dock connector to reset the password.

You can buy one, or download the files and get one made: github.com/hrushka/LibrettyKey

His video on the process of designing everything is here: youtube.com/watch?v=AdeswJreJ9

Boosts are love for keeping old hardware alive.

SOLD!! Anyone in the Philly (or in the US, willing to ship!) area looking to buy a Libretto 70CT? Times are a bit tough but I want mine to go to a good home. Comes with the bigger docking station, wrist wrest case, and floppy drive, plus the memory upgrade (32MB total). Have replaced the drive with a CF card. Looking for $375 but will entertain offers. #retrocomputing #toshiba #libretto #philly

Borrowed a very nice Toshiba T3100e from a friend to fool around with. And it is a treat to use, to be honest! I love the display, that's really something special. And it's so crisp! Amazing. Also, the whole machine still emits this lovely 80s electronics smell in a pretty pure way. Like it was sparsely used and very well stored over all those years! Good stuff! Had some fun playing Stunts and LHX on this 😎🕹️

Only thing that confused me was the disk space displayed in Bytes! Was going to install GEOS on this until I realized it did not have 30 MB, but only 3 MB left 😅. Oh well, Star Commander is still another very solid choice for this machine. Not tested connecting it to a 1541 and transfer files though, as I think I have the wrong cable for that.

@NanoRaptor @chbmeyer: Example:

ayca is my '92 #Toshiba T6400C i486 laptop with detachable keyboard + ISA slot which I use for 10MbE.

AYCA is also the type name of the #2CV based '68-'87 #Citroën #Méhari: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3

It's also a turkish female given name. The '96 French-Arabic song #Aïcha by #Khaled (youtu.be/gzlHucbD76U, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A%C3%AFc) seems to refer to the same name. So when I read that hostname, I always have that song as #earworm.
