Tuesday is another bright & sunny day here in deepest, darkest Yorkshire. It’s a bit cold at the moment - just over 6ºC, but the temps are due to climb to the low teens later so I will once more be out in the gravel pit - not too far to go now on the cleaning side, I can see the bottom of the bulk bag now.

1. Person had a good meeting with the immigration lawyer. Pretty much the best outcome of advice/plan moving forward.

2. Incredibly productive therapy session today. There's a lot of shit going on, and despite IDing something I'm not ready to deal with, we made inroads into some key stuff.

3. My house is still sparkly and clean after last week's spring refresh and it was just so nice to spend time in it today.

Hello everyone, how's it going? We're outside this evening making some final preparations for the bees arriving on Friday. 🐝 The redbud tree is really brightening up one side of the yard. Then we also installed chicken wire so Pixie stops eating the lettuce in the raised bed. 🥬 The backyard work never ends, but it's much more enjoyable than my actual paying work.

Well I better clean up for dinner. Have a wonderful evening friends!

The $dayjob wasn't especially stressful, for which I am grateful.

However, I saw #today just how much a particular team is struggling. Worse than I thought or even feared.

I am still trying to figure out how best to help but I am somewhat stymied by the apparent low level of rigor which is causing simple mistakes at a time when we can least afford them. There also doesn't seem to be sufficient feedback loops to help the team self correct, requiring a lot of input from the rest of us.

What a day #today.

I managed to practice off my meditation stool many of the skills and qualities I've been cultivating while sitting. I worked through some difficult feelings, much like how I've learned how I can use my strengths and skills both to deal with challenges when running or coding. The direct experience is entirely new to me but those parallels helped, especially this morning.

Well, I managed to get a few hundred words written even with the painter here all day. The painting is progressing nicely and every day I'm happier with how my house looks. I'm going to be VERY happy once it's all done.

Welp. The big bad storm didn't live up to the hype #today. At least not anywhere close to me. 😏

They were saying high winds and falling trees n such stuff. So they actually canceled the schools to let the parents put up with their kids themselves. 🥴

No high blowing winds here. No tosseling tree or trash. Just some rumbling n distant lightning and some not-too-heavy rain wetting everything.

It even looks like it will be clearing soon. Maybe a little sun in #myday? 🤞

Welp. Enough for my weather reporting. There's still coffee to sip n Heather's hollering to take heed of. ☕️💪

Turns out scones for one are totally possible! This one is an oat, honey, ginger situation and made the best start to a Monday ever! Bit proud of myself, because I had to adapt a recipe meant for much larger that was trying to make orange scones—quite different! Also, the air fryer is a wonderful contraption! I hope everyone has a marvelous day #today and if anyone needs a little gentle sweetness, you're welcome at my table! #Food

Next to them is a generous, (a little bigger than my palm, maybe???) scone, round, domed, golden and visibly oat-studded. A little butter is still melting into the top in preparation for eating! My unicorn mug—full of coffee with salted caramel creamer—is trying to literally horn in on the picture, but can't quite get all the way in frame. They're sitting on a wooden table.
