Neil Young is crankier than a hermit being stung by bees. He hates #Spotify. He hates #Facebook. He hates #Apple. He hates #SteveJobs.

He hates what #digital #technology is doing to #music. “I’m only one person standing there going, ‘Hey, this is [expletive] up!’ ” he shouted, ranting away on the porch of his longtime manager #ElliotRoberts’s house overlooking #Malibu Canyon in the sunblasted desert north of #LosAngeles.

The dial thermometer at the far end of the porch indicated that it was now upward of 110 degrees of some kind of heat. Maybe the dial was stuck.”

If anyone else is looking to leave #Spotify and (re-)build a proper MP3 collection from scratch – I just discovered this extremely handy tool for exporting Spotify playlists into CSV files:

exportify.app

GitHub: github.com/watsonbox/exportify

(I'm aware that Spotify lets you export your playlists in one big JSON file, but even converted to CSV it's a hot mess. Exportify's CSVs are per-playlist and listed just the way you'd expect it. 👌)

As I'm stil trying switching away from Spotify, I'm trying out since today Tidal.
When i choose in Google maps setting for "default media playback controls" I can only select Youtube music and Spotify. But there is no Tidal and no qobuz to select.
Any workaround for this?
I'm not driving many times with a car, but when I do, I like to have it.

Days like today seem good to encourage people to purchase and own their music.

Aside from the benefit that you're not dependent on another service, you can also support artists, labels, record stores etc. too by purchasing from them, rather than huge platforms paying out a pittance while raking profits.

And managing and playing a digital collection doesn't need to be complicated, I've been using #PlexAmp for years now, and there's other services you can use too, take your pick.

Vous cherchez désespérément un remplaçant a #xManager ? :ablobcatattention:

#AntiSplitM + #ReVanced = :bloblewd:

En gros le premier permet de récupérer l'.apk d'une application installée et le second permet de patcher l'application.

Par exemple patcher #spotify pour enlever la pub... (exemple totalement au hasard)

Contrairement a xManager il permet de patcher plus d'applications.
