The road is being repaved in front of my home.

This frustrates me because the road never would have needed repaving if the gas pipes had not been replaced. The gas pipes run next to an all all electric neighborhood so with just an ounce of creativity, I bet we could have retired the fossil fuel gas infrastructure altogether.

Not only did Richmond residents pay for the cost to replace those gas pipes (which includes the cost of repaving), now we're also collectively paying to repave the road AGAIN. I wonder how many $ millions was sunk into this street in just the last year? 🤔

A bit cooler tomorrow for D.C. into Maryland, but still quite warm for and much of south-central and southwest Virginia; still expecting gusty winds and another chance for a few strong storms on Sunday afternoon

I-95 northbound is a parking lot from at least Ashland north, emergency vehicles rushing north towards Doswell every few minutes. Avoid!

The area of elevated risk for severe storms has been expanded further north now to include and Ashland; damaging straight-line winds and and isolated tornado are possible; timing: 12pm to 2pm for the I-95 corridor.

The highest risk of severe weather tomorrow will be south of into North Carolina; a slight risk covers the rest of central and northern into . Damaging winds is the biggest threat from any storms that develop. The good news is that storms will be short lived over any one spot, forecast models show the line of storms being relatively thin.

EMERGENCY DEFENSE RALLY 🚨

This Sunday we’ll be having an emergency defense rally in Richmond. This is in response to Executive Order 47 signed by Youngkin yesterday, which directed state and local law enforcement & authorities to fully cooperate with ICE.

This targeted attack on immigrants is not only inhumane, it’s a huge waste of time and money. Statistics show that immigrants are far less likely to commit violent crime than non-immigrants. They pay sales tax and often income tax - unlike the super rich. The money used on deportations could be used for things that actually improve lives - replacing our lead water pipes, constructing homes, and feeding people.

The ramping up of ICE and police in our state is not to our benefit, but to the benefit of the billionaire class. The brutalizing and deportation of our loved ones won’t solve the problems in our communities. We need decent housing, better wages, and quality healthcare for all workers including immigrants.

The billionaires are the enemy, not immigrants! Join us in the fight back!
