I'm currently reading The Hobbit for the fifth time and once again really enjoying it✨ The copy I'm reading is actually a slightly battered film edition, but this Dutch edition I also have is much nicer.

I remembered the book mostly as a quest story, but I was pleasantly surprised by the humour. Especially the "good morning" scene in the beginning is such a fun way of showing how British people can be quite indirect sometimes.

🇾🇪 Naast de wollenschilderijen en 3D beelden die ik maak, maak ik ook graag deze boekenleggers. De afbeelding die ik met wol maak is op een cirkel van minder dan 2 cm. Toch is het een uitdaging om iets kleins en gedetailleerds erop te krijgen. Lezen jullie nog uit papieren boeken en gebruiken jullie daarbij nog een boekenlegger?

🇬🇧 Besides the wool paintings and 3D sculptures I create, I also enjoy making these bookmarks. The image I create with wool is on a circle of less than 2 cm. Still, it’s a challenge to add something small and detailed to it. Do you still read from paper books, and do you still use a bookmark?

Finally giving Good Omens a try! This one has been on my shelf for a couple of years, but somehow I'm never really in the mood to pick it up. This month I have to read a book set in London for my online book club, so it's a good reason as any to read this one at last. I'm curious; I've enjoyed one book by Neil Gaiman but another not so much, and the only book I've read by Terry Pratchett (The Colour of Magic) wasn't really my cup of tea either... Still, I'm trying to be open-minded.

Bijvoorbeeld over vogels en natuur, over muziek (ik speel trekharmonica en zit in de balfolk), over ons gezinsleven (met man, elfjarig kind en poes), bordspelen, lezen en literatuur, politiek, rommelen in tuin en keuken, zorgen over big tech, breien en andere super wezenlijke dingen van het leven :)
