"The Trump administration unlawfully deported a Venezuelan man due to a autism awareness tattoo that officials baselessly claimed was gang affiliated.
on March 15, Donald Trump authorized the illegal expulsion of hundreds of Venezuelan migrants to El Salvador and Honduras despite a court order telling him to halt all operations until the accused receive a trial. Insisting every immigrant aboard the three aircrafts were dangerous gangsters of the Tren de Aragua organization, Trump maintained his decision to disregard the order from a federal judge was the right call.
However, the sister of Neri Jose Alvarado Borges—a 24-year-old of Venezuelan descent deported to El Salvador this month—said relatives suspect that Immigration and Custom Enforcement officials used his tattoos, one showing the name of his autistic younger brother and another showing a rainbow-colored ribbon of the autism acceptance movement, to justify his illegal ousting from the US.
Family members confirmed Alvarado Borges was not a criminal. 'None of these tattoos has anything at all to do with the Tren de Aragua,' said his sister, Lisbengerth Montilla, 20. 'But for them [immigration authorities] anyone with a tattoo is connected to Tren de Aragua.'
Montilla said her brother wasn't in any gang. Instead, he had been a psychology student who dropped out of school to come to America nine months ago due to the upheaval of the Venezuelan economy. Alvarado traveled through the dangerous Darien Gap jungle to come to the US and established a quiet life in Dallas where he was employed at a local bakery."
